Farming
The farming enterprise purchase day old chicks and then rears broiler chickens for slaughter at between 35-42 days. The facilities are currently set up to do 24 000 broilers in a 6-week cycle. We are in the process of doubling this capacity.
The farming enterprise meets all regulatory requirements for the current operation, and its license allows for productions of up to 200 000 broilers per cycle.
Abattoir
A Chicken abattoir was established at 250 sqm abattoir on the farm complete with all equipment, changing rooms, Freezer and Chiller. The facility is set up to slaughter 1000 broilers a day.
The Chicken abattoir meets all regulatory requirements for the current operation, and is duly licensed in terms of Section 8 of the Meat Safety Act, 2000 (Act 40 of 2000) and the requirements of the promulgated Poultry Regulations R153 to operate as a poultry abattoir with a throughput of up to 2 000 broilers per day.
Location
The company operates from the Farm Firolaz 485 JR, Bronkhorstspruit, Gauteng, which is 8.5653 hectares big.
It is located close to Bronkhorstspruit (20km) and has easy access to the N4 Highway and 50km from Pretoria.
There are eight broiler houses on the property covering a total of 2229m2.
The offices and storerooms occupy 556 m2.
The new abattoir fridge and chill facility covers between 250sqm.
There are 15 accommodation units and changing rooms
There is a 3 bedroom farm house which is partly used for office space but there are enough other space to relocate the office and use the house as a house.
Expansion
As the required requirements exceeds the current capacity, the expansion has started by adding additional chicken housing.
